SHREE SHIV SHAKTI DHAM YATRA

This divine temple, Shiv Shakti Dham, was established by Pandit Jai Ram Sharma in 1997 after having direct darshan (vision) of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti. In this sacred place, there are physical manifestations of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shani Dev within the temple, along with the divine presence of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti. People from far and wide come to visit this temple for darshan. In 2017, there was a divine sighting of Goddess Shakti similar to the events at Kedarnath Dham. At 11 o’clock, Pandit Jairam Sharma received an indication that a major incident was about to occur. People were alerted and the temple was evacuated. Pandit Jai Ram Sharma arranged with the authorities to restrict vehicular traffic on the road. Vigilance was maintained far and wide. Many dozens of people were saved from potential harm. Then, at 12:40 pm, a massive rock suddenly appeared and settled on the temple, and huge tons of rocks were poured into the temple from both sides. Divine light continued to burn in the temple for three days. Everyone had darshan (sight) and after seven days, when the large rocks were removed from the temple’s entrance, the divine statue of Lord Hanuman was found lying face down at the entrance. When it was lifted by LNT (the company), the driver was startled upon seeing the divine form of Lord Hanuman with five faces. For a few moments, he was stunned, and then five people lifted the statue and placed it in the correct position. It was observed that despite a 20-ton rock being above the statue, it remained intact. A divine miracle was witnessed. Similarly, the statue of Lord Shani Dev was also found unharmed. The entire Shiva family within the temple was completely protected. Today, this temple is revered as a significant Shiv Shakti Dham, radiating immense spiritual powers.

HISTORY

Shree Shiv Shakti Mandir, located near the Dhalli tunnel on the Bhattakufar Road in the city of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, is renowned in its own right. This temple has a fascinating history. It is said that before 1942, there was a temple dedicated to Mahakaleshwar in close proximity to this temple, where Hindu people used to worship and perform rituals. There was also a Muslim settlement here. Over time, due to natural disasters, The Mahakaleshwar Temple got buried beneath the debris, and the Muslim settlement was also destroyed.

After that, a new settlement began here, and the family of Prabhu Dayal Ji, who had a religious inclination, started residing in this place. Over time, numerous accidents occurred at this location, resulting in the deaths of dozens of people and the accumulation of a sense of fear and foreboding. Pandit Jai Ram Sharma, who was studying sacred scriptures and also resided in Shimla, had a divine dream one night on August 11, 1997. It was around 4 a.m. in the morning. In this dream, he saw the divine manifestation of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti, who blessed him and instructed him to transform this cursed place into Shree Shiv Shakti Dham; otherwise, he would be held responsible for the sins committed there. Upon waking up from the dream, Pandit Jai Ram Sharma became anxious and contemplated the meaning of this command from the primal cosmic forces. Should he carry out this task or not? The same dream repeated itself for several months. It was then that Pandit Jai Ram Sharma thought that disregarding the command of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti would be sorrowful, and he made the decision to excavate the place indicated in the dream and install a trident (trishul) there. With the trident in hand, during the month of Shravan, in the presence of Shree Daulat Ram Verma and other individuals, Pandit Jai Ram Sharma conducted the establishment of the trident at the roadside near a standing rock formation, and everyone began to perform worship and rituals. As they had only reached a distance of 100 meters from the location, a man came running towards them and exclaimed, “Pandit Ji, there is a snake where you performed the worship!” When they all returned to the spot, they saw a majestic snake coiled around the trident. Witnessing this divine play, everyone started chanting praises of Lord Shiva with great enthusiasm.

Only a few days had passed when Prabhu Dayal Ji and his wife Santosh Ji approached Pandit Ji, saying that they had been experiencing repeated dreams of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti, who instructed them to donate land for the construction of a temple where their trident was buried. They wanted to know who had established the flag and trident. Pandit Ji accepted their request but found it challenging to construct a temple on such a steep and dangerous rock formation. However, due to their persistent insistence, Pandit Ji arrived at the location and performed a trident puja, finally managing to bring down two brave individuals, Maan Singh and Dhani Ram, from the cliff to retrieve pure soil for the temple’s foundation. That night, Pandit Ji once again had a dream where he saw the divine presence of Shiv-Shakti and received an order to initiate the construction of the temple without delay. Waking up, he pondered how he would accomplish this task so quickly, as he was a poor wanderer with limited resources. Nevertheless, he gathered some interested individuals, narrated the entire incident, and together they started collecting funds. Eventually, a sum of Rs. 9250 was collected and handed over to Pandit Ji. However, in another dream, it was revealed that those who contributed funds should not be involved in the temple construction, as it would not be considered a religious offering. They were asked to support the construction and welfare of the people in their own way. Upon hearing this, everyone was astonished, and it was decided to return the money to the donors in the form of a grand feast. Thus, on March 25, 1998, a large feast was organized, located at the roadside, where people gathered and enjoyed the meal. Pandit Ji then resolved to fulfill the divine order of constructing the Shiv Shakti temple. With his own savings, he initiated the construction work. The practice of animal sacrifices, which used to take place monthly, was also discontinued from that day forward. The work of Shiv Shakti Dham continued despite several obstacles. A committee was formed to address the challenges and find solutions. With the blessings of Shiv Shakti, the project progressed.

One day, the construction materials, which were kept near the roadside, were desired by the Public Works Department (PWD), located nearby, to be used in their own work, attempting to halt the temple construction. Pandit Ji confronted them, but as he approached their office, he saw snakes inside. The officers demanded a fine of Rs. 100 for taking the materials. However, a snake catcher managed to capture a snake from the upper floor. But as soon as he reached the gate, the snake disappeared, leaving everyone surprised. From then on, this place became known as “narbalihaari” (where sacrifices were offered). The work continued, and Pandit Ji dedicated himself to the task while also involving others in the temple construction. His expertise was such that even a 3-foot snowfall couldn’t disrupt the progress, and with the blessings of Shiva and Shakti, the work continued. The establishment of the Shivling took place on Mahashivratri. On that day, an extraordinary and astonishing event occurred during the Kalash dance of the divine energy. The pot that was supposed to be placed on the Shivling flew up on its own because of the severe weather conditions and winds. The pot hit the pillars all around and landed back on the head of a lady, who was sitting there for the worship, before returning to the Shivling. After that, the winds calmed down, and the ritual of offering life to the creatures was completed. Since that day, Mahashivratri is celebrated with great enthusiasm at this place. Whoever visits this divine place with devotion, Shiv Shakti resolves all their troubles and bestows their blessings upon them. Shree Shiv Shakti Dham attracts not only devotees from all over the country but also from abroad who come to seek the darshan and blessings of Shiva and Shakti.
